Door Prizes!
What do professional developers want to win as door prizes? We've heard time and again that relevant books and, especially, quality software are at the top of most lists.
Indy Code Camp will provide lots of both in drawings throughout the day at the IndyNDA table.
This following list will grow quite a bit leading up to the April 26th event.

Manning's focus is on computing titles at professional levels. They care about the quality of our books. They work with their authors to coax out of them the best writing they can produce. They consult with technical experts on book proposals and manuscripts, and they may use as many as two dozen reviewers in various stages of preparing a manuscript. The abilities of each author are nurtured to encourage him or her to write a first-rate book.
Their books are designed without gimmicks. Their main goal is elegance and readability--the two are often the same. The book covers are understated, decorated with pictures of worldwide regional dress habits of two hundred years ago. Many of the books come with online reader support: authors answer the questions of their readers in Manning's Web-based Author Online discussion forums. Manning Publications Co. is providing multiple copies of some of their best books, including the following titles that belong in your personal library. C# in Depth LINQ in Action ASP.NET in Action Windows Powershell in Action ASP.NET 2.0 Web Parts in Action
Microsoft has a long history of supporting developers. Who will ever forget the sweaty, prowling Steve Ballmer praising 'Developers .. developers ... developers' a few years ago. It is a keystone moment in ensuring the message (Microsoft supports developers!) was delivered clearly. Expect interesting software for the prize drawing.
How good are your unit tests?
As the leading code coverage tool for Microsoft .NET software, NCover monitors your code while running under test and reports where your code is being exercised (and more importantly, where it is not being exercised).
Why Code Coverage?
Code coverage is a vital metric for a healthy continuous build environment. By tracking code coverage over time, you can quickly measure the effectiveness of your unit test portfolio.
After implementing code coverage, look at NCover reports to determine which portions of your code need more testing. By building better quality tests, the quality of your software will improve.
Why NCover?
- Analyze Production Code - Other code coverage tools require you to build a specially modified build of your software for analysis. NCover enables you get more accurate results by running its analysis on the same code that ships to your customer.
- Comprehensive Language Support - Because NCover does its analysis at the .NET runtime layer, it does not matter which .NET language you choose to use for your project. NCover will work with any language that compiles to managed code. We've tested NCover with C#, VB.NET, Managed C , J#, MSIL, and Boo.
- 64-bit Support - NCover now supports the .NET framework running on 64-bit versions of windows.
- Time Tested - NCover has been used by thousands of developers since its creation 4 years ago.
- Powerful Reporting - NCover generates comprehensive summary reports that show the coverage status of your project at a glance in addition to code reports detailing the code that could use more testing.
- IIS and Windows Service Support - NCover provides support for analyzing web server code running in IIS as well as .NET code running in Windows Services.
- Code Exclusion - NCover gives you control over code that you would like to exclude from analysis through code attributes and pattern matching.
NDepend is a tool that simplifies managing a complex .NET code base. Architects and developers can analyze code structure, specify design rules, plan massive refactoring, do effective code reviews and master evolution by comparing different versions of the code.
The result is better communication, improved quality, easier maintenance and faster development.
